June 27, 2007 Chapter 6 - The big payoff!
OK, so I've gone through all kinds of exercises. Slides. String skipping, chromatic scales, various other scales and permutations thereof. And now...the payoff! Chapter Six puts all the skills that have been covered so far to the test with a large exeprt from the solo in "The Mirror" and culminates with a complete transcription to the solo from "Lie"!
After only one pass through this book so far I am nowhere near able to play this lead convincingly. However, I have the confidence that I soon will be able to play this solo. Once I nail that, perhaps I'll post the MP3 file so you all can hear for yourself my progress. I'm also kicking around the idea of uploading some videos of techniques that I discover and think others may find useful.
